When and Where is the Market of Curiosities?
The Market of Curiosities takes place on December 7th, 2019. Doors open at 11:00am and close at 7:00pm. Circus Stella and Fleet Family Five will perform at 2:00 and 5:00pm. The market will be hosted at the Carlisle Expo Center at 100 K Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
Is there an entrance fee?
Yes, there is a fee of $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children under 18-years-old, $3.00 for students with a valid school ID, free for children under the age of 12. Please bring cash for your entrance fee. There is spotty WiFi where payment is accepted and there are no guarantees that our credit card system will work. CASH IS KING!
Will there be off street parking?
Yes! The Carlisle Expo Center has a 300 space parking lot and overflow parking is available at the fairgrounds 1 block away.
Is the Carlisle Expo Center accessible for all?
Yes! The Carlisle Expo Center is completely accessible.
Is this event appropriate for children?
The Market of Curiosities supports your parenting decisions. No one knows what environment is appropriate for your child like you. Please consider the following environmental factors and make your decisions accordingly. There will lots of people and a DJ cranking out loud tunes all day long. If loud noises or big crowds effect your child in a negative way please take this into consideration. People will be drinking. If the idea of alcohol around your child feels unsettling then you might want to consider getting a babysitter. Additionally we can't promise everyone's language and products throughout the market will be absolutely child or family friendly. If you want to bring your child we don't anticipate any problems but certainly want you to be able to make a fully informed choice.
How do I become a vendor at the 2020 Market of Curiosities?
The application process for the 2020 show will be open between July 1st - August 31st. If you would like to be added to our application reminder list please provide your information on the application page on our website.
What type of vendors are you looking for?
We're looking for unique jewelry, cool t-shirts, vintage housewares, yummy foods and drinks, handcrafted toys, cutie pet supplies, interesting housewares, original art, accessories, stationary, photography, hygiene items, and whatever you got that you think would be a cool addition to our market. Only handmade and vintage items will be sold. We're looking for vendors who sell items from $5.00 to $100.00. It's our goal to provide our attendees with the opportunity to shop if they have $10.00 or $100.00 in their pocket. Remember the Market of Curiosities is an odd market for everybody!
*No Third Party Companies or Multi-Level Marketing Companies will be accepted to vend at the Market of Curiosities. Please do not apply or send an email requesting a booth.
How are vendors chosen?
Applicants will be chosen by a panel of individuals who are valued for their expertise in knowledge of vintage goods, handmade items, and all things curious. These individuals are well trained on the vision and goal of the Market of Curiosities and will be using a system that looks objectively at each applicant and assigns them a score based on how well their product fits our market and how well our market fits their product. We're creating a well curated event where all vendors present offer something unique for our attendees. However please be aware that we're a kind and supportive group of people who are dedicated to creating an opportunity for our vendors to shine. So apply today!
Important dates to consider for applicants and vendors?
November 1st, 2019 - Last day to cancel and receive a partial refund of half the cost of your booth
December 6th, 2019 - You may load in early on the day before the event12:00pm - 8:00pm early load-in.
December 7th, 2019 - load in for vendors begins at 8:00am
December 7th, 2019 - Market of Curiosities opens there doors at 11:00am and close at 7:00pm
July 1 - August 31, 2020 - The applications process for the 2020 Market of Curiosities
